Welcome
Hello, thanks for looking at my website. I'm Faye Smart, a BACP registered counsellor, offering online, in-person (in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland) or telephone therapy for adults. I'm warm, down to earth, good humoured and have a flexible, relational approach to counselling.
As a pluralistic therapist, I draw on a variety of evidence based therapeutic approaches, so we will focus on finding ways to work together that will be meaningful and helpful for you.
A little more detail...
I undertook the Postgraduate Masters (MSc) in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Abertay University, graduating with an award of distinction. As a pluralist, I take the view that different people will respond to different types of therapy and different approaches at different times, so will try to shape your therapy in a way that feels right for you.
My professional background includes extensive occupational experience in health, social work and the charitable sector. I have experience working with a broad spectrum of adults, students, members of the lgbtq+ community as well as extensive specialist experience in working with older adults, adult carers, and those affected by ill health, acute and long term, chronic or degenerative conditions such as dementia, cancer, parkinsons, sensory loss, learning and physical disabilities. I work with a wide range of problems of living, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, eco and climate anxiety, gender and identity issues, health-related problems, as well as other psychological difficulties.
Sessions are usually for a minimum of 50 minutes and cost from £50. I want to make my service as welcoming and accessible as possible, so encourage discussion around any specific needs you have individually, including regarding the mode or venue, number and frequency of sessions.
